Presicce is a Council run village with a population of 5,583, in the Province of Lecce, Puglia, Italy.
Located in the south of Salento, 62km from the provincial capital (Lecce) and 8.5km from the Ionian Sea, it is part of a group of Councils belonging to the so-called region of the ‘Salento hills’.
It is part of the National Olive Oil Association and is also known as the ‘undergound city of olive mills’, because of the presence of 23 underground olive mills situated in tunnels underneath Presicce. In addition, from 2011, Presicce became a member the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy.
